About

Clarity for decisions about work, money, and the economy.

Most people making a decision about work or money are not short of information; they are short of information they can trust, dated, and put to use in under ten minutes. WhatsTheNet.com is built around that gap: take a published figure, show where it came from and when, and give you a tool to test it against your own situation.

What this release covers

  • A three-career starter occupational database drawn from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, with comparison and detail pages.
  • Four working calculators: salary benchmarking, purchasing power over time, workforce budgeting, and public finance & sector comparison.
  • Dated company research and Stock Research & Valuation, with selected SEC annual snapshots, manual scenarios and optional browser-local lists and plans.
  • Business health checks using stated deterministic rules, scenario forecasts and a management dashboard. These are not AI assessments.
  • Explanatory lessons, a free self-paced course, an installable web app and a limited read-only data API preview.

Limitations we want to be plain about

  • The career database is a starter set of three occupations, not a comprehensive directory. It contains no job listings and no individual employer information.
  • Most source data is refreshed manually; the economy page separately labels its Treasury check and fallback. Sourced figures carry their measurement period and retrieval date so you can judge whether it is still current.
  • Calculator outputs are arithmetic applied to numbers you supply. They are illustrative scenarios, not forecasts, and not personalised financial, investment, tax or career advice.
  • There are no site account-registration, newsletter or general contact forms; the only form is the optional partnership inquiry, provided by Zoho Forms. Hosting access controls and technical or usage data depend on the host, as described in our Privacy statement. Webinars are not currently offered.
