Short, and meant to be read.
Educational use
WhatsTheNet.com publishes general educational information and calculation tools about work, money and the economy. You may use them freely for your own research and decision-making. Content on this site is original to WhatsTheNet.com except where a source is cited; cited data remains the work of the issuing organisation.
Data, dates and limits
Occupational figures are U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data with the measurement period and retrieval date stated on each page and in Sources & methods. They are refreshed manually and may not reflect the most recent publication. National medians are not entry-level offers, local market rates or guarantees, and projected growth is not a count of current vacancies. The career database is a starter set of three occupations; it is not comprehensive and contains no job listings or employer information.
Calculations are illustrative
Tool results are arithmetic applied to figures you enter, including any default values, which are illustrative rather than measured. Scenario outputs are hypothetical and are not forecasts, projections of your future earnings, or statements about tax or take-home pay.
No advice, no guarantees
Nothing on this site is financial, investment, tax, legal, medical or personalised career advice, and using it creates no professional relationship. We make no guarantee that the information is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose, and we accept no liability for decisions made in reliance on it. For decisions with material consequences, consult a qualified professional who can consider your specific circumstances.
Availability
This is an initial release. Features may change or be withdrawn, and the site may be unavailable at times. Webinars, a native mobile application and site account-based services are not available. An installable web app and limited read-only data API preview are implemented; hosting access and configuration may restrict availability. Explicit SEC ticker requests depend on that access and official-source availability. Optional lists and frozen entry plans are saved in your browser, not an account. Business-health checks apply stated deterministic rules, not AI judgments. These features do not change the educational-use limits above.
