Data API (developer preview)

Versioned, read-only JSON copies of data already shown on WhatsTheNet.com. This is a developer preview: there is no production API yet, no authentication, no live feed and no uptime commitment.

Resources

Base path /api/v1/. Method GET only. Every response includes source, sourceUrl, observationDate, retrievalDate, units and methodology. A date the site did not record is null.

  • GET /api/v1/employment

    BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook pay medians and projected growth for the careers on this site.

  • GET /api/v1/workforce

    The workforce budget worked example and its formula. Illustrative inputs, not statistics.

  • GET /api/v1/economic-trend

    CBO debt and interest as a percent of GDP (historical and projected) and the stored Treasury debt snapshot.

  • GET /api/v1/financial-planning

    The purchasing power worked example and its formula. Illustrative inputs, not forecasts.

GET /api/v1/ lists the resources. Unknown names return 404 with a JSON error.

Request examples

curl https://<site-address>/api/v1/employment
const res = await fetch("/api/v1/employment");
const data = await res.json();

Replace <site-address> with the address you are viewing this page on.

What this preview does not do

It does not accept data, collect messages, require accounts, or receive anything you type into the site's tools. Calculator entries never leave your browser.

Responses are static snapshots bundled with the site, so values change only when the site is updated. Attribute the original source named in each response.
